Elm Bank Festival of Trees Job Summary

Create holiday ornaments and decorate an artificial tree to be raffled off during the Massachusetts Horticultural Festival of Trees. Funding is a donation from the club.
• Chairperson: This project takes place every other year which means the next tree donation will be in November 2022. The chair reaches out to Mass Hort (Penni Jenkins) or can go online to fill out the Festival of Tree participation request. You will need to have information on the height, color, lighting and theme of your tree on the application. (Trees do not need to be typical Christmas Trees as you could make a tree out of gardening books). Prior to coming up with a theme the chair puts out a request to members and friends seeking an artificial tree donation. (As of this writing we have a tree on hold for 2022). As chair you gather the participants in June of that year to discuss how we will go about crafting the ornaments. The committee gets together once a month or work together or independently to hand craft the ornaments over the summer and into the fall. The chair with support from committee members will seek a gift donation or two that ties in with the tree theme for under the tree. The tree is set up the week prior to Thanksgiving at Elm Bank by committee members. There is a budget of $300 for materials. This amount is usually more than enough as long as you have someone willing to donate the tree you are offering. Chair will collect member reimbursement sheets and receipts and sign and submit them to the treasurer.
